Our Response to the Refugee Crisis in Syria

Our Response to the Refugee Crisis in Syria

We have been called as a charity to care for the isolated, the marginalised and the vulnerable: to walk alongside the hurting and the broken with the hope that the Holy Spirit, at work through us, will bring transformation to their lives.

Through Community Sponsorship – a Home Office scheme that enables us to welcome and support a family from Syria, helping them settle in our community, Riverbank would be practically living out the call of scripture –  under the canopy of our core vision – to welcome the foreigner and the wanderer in need:

When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Eygpt. I am the Lord your God. (Leviticus 19v33).

Please contact us to see how you can support us in this. We need to find suitable accommodation and raise funds to make a successful application to the Home Office.
