Community Outreach Worker
Sue Jackson was already a much loved celebrity in the children’s ministry at Holy Trinity Church in Richmond when she joined us.
Somebody said to Sue recently, “Are you still a children’s worker? You must have been doing this for 10 years!” It actually feels like a lot less. She has the privilege of teaching and running clubs at church and schools, and Sunday school for the 0 to 11 year olds, playgroups, running puppet shows and leading children’s groups at a week-long conference. Her husband and 3 children, (ages 21, 18 and nearly 15), have spent many a happy? hour watching practice puppet shows, (they love being squirted with water!), helping her cut out and prepare craft and patiently listening to ideas and thoughts. Her prayer in whatever ministry she’s involved in is that she will see the children (and adults) as God sees them.
“Growing up in a single parent family, I remember one year we moved 6 times and never settling in one place until I was 11. The heart of Riverbank is one I can instantly connect with and I’m looking forward to being a part of this community that seeks to walk with the families we have the honour of getting to know.”
When she can, she enjoys watching tennis. One of these days she’ll stop watching it and play it…..well, maybe….
